Student Organizations

The Student Lighthouse Team is made up of a representative from each class in grades 2nd-5th grade. This group reinforces the seven habits throughout our school. They plan and coordinate various events throughout the year.

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) meets weekly and is open to 5th graders. These students create interesting and exciting projects that stretch their skills in all five STEAM areas.

Girls on the Move meet in the spring each year and encourage physical active for our girls in grades 3rd-5th grade. Many of these girls participate in the Pirate Pride 5K in May.

Boys on the Move meet in the spring and participate in various activities to extend their physical fitness. This is open to boys in grades 4th and 5th. This group takes part in archery activities and the club culminates with a championship match.

Strings is an excellent program started 3 years ago at Stowell when Mrs. Schisler joined our staff. Students in grades 3rd-5th grade learn basic skills for playing string instruments. They perform at the Fine Arts Night in April.

4th Grade Reading Club meets weekly to practice reading skills, enjoy current literature, and engage in debates.

Safety Team helps keep our students safe and seen on their way into school in the mornings. Students on safety team welcome students into the school and wear protective, brightly colored gear at crosswalks and entrances to help children arrive safely.
