Hannibal Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Heidi Hansen as the next Principal of A.D. Stowell Elementary.

Mrs. Hansen holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Hannibal-LaGrange University, along with an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration/Superintendency from William Woods University.

She brings to this role not only a strong educational background and leadership experience, but also a deep personal connection to A.D. Stowell Elementary. A third-generation graduate of the school, Mrs. Hansen now has children attending as the fourth generation—giving her a unique perspective on the school’s history, values, and strong community spirit. This connection inspires her continued dedication to honoring Stowell’s legacy while guiding it into the future.

Since 2023, Mrs. Hansen has served as the Title I Reading Interventionist at A.D. Stowell. Prior to that, she taught fifth grade for nine years in both Hannibal Public Schools and Ralls County R-II. She has also assisted in leading the Elementary Summer School Program as an Admin Intern for the past five years.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Hansen has developed a passion for instructional leadership and collaborative school improvement. She is committed to supporting the academic, social, and behavioral development of every student, while working closely with staff and administrators to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Mrs. Hansen lives in Hannibal with her husband, Brett, and their two children—Quinn, a fourth grader, and Lane, a second grader—who both attend A.D. Stowell Elementary.

With a clear vision for student success and a heartfelt commitment to the school community, Mrs. Hansen is well-prepared to lead A.D. Stowell Elementary into its next chapter.
