Poster submissions for the MLK Day Celebration

Two Stowell students won awards for the poster contest submissions at the communitywide  Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration on January 15, 2023. JaNeayah Bell and Clarissa Harsell won first and second place respectfully for their artwork made to celebrate the great work and lasting legacy of Dr. King. 17 other Stowell students were recognized for the submissions to the contest as well. Under the direction of art teacher Mr. Stephen Schisler the students learned about Dr. King and his lasting legacy; Mr. S then continued to lead the students through several art techniques to develop their poster submissions. Mr. Schisler was also honored at the event for his personal mural contributions to the Hannibal community. Posters as displayed at the event held at Helping Hand Baptist Church are shown here. Congratulations, Stowell kids and Mr. Schisler!
