🎨🏆 We’re excited to share that two of the district's fantastic art teachers have been honored by the Hannibal Arts Council! Amber Penrose, art teacher at Oakwood Elementary, received the inaugural Arts Education Award. Lisa Wiese, ceramics teacher at HHS, earned the Arts Education Project Award, including funds for a pottery wheel for her students. Congrats to you both for this recognition in the community! Sometimes kids can blow your mind. I took chalk out to recess on Monday. A third grader spent recess drawing, but I didn't pay attention to what he was drawing. Tuesday I went out and discovered this. He did Star Wars proud. Great job Declan, my nerdy librarian heart is happy.

Falkor started coming to school in February, and he has slowly been getting used to school. He's starting to come out some when classes are in the library, and has even been caught listening to some of the students reading to him. Falkor is a great addition to the library staff!
