Falkor enjoyed having Mrs. Stambaugh's class share some Missouri Conservation magazines with him today!

Sometimes kids can blow your mind. I took chalk out to recess on Monday. A third grader spent recess drawing, but I didn't pay attention to what he was drawing. Tuesday I went out and discovered this. He did Star Wars proud. Great job Declan, my nerdy librarian heart is happy.

Thank you for your continued support of Oakwood Elementary.

It is a great feeling when students donate books they no longer need to the library. Thank you for the great additions Brynlee! They will fly off the shelves!

Thank you to the Hannibal Evening Kiwanis Group for our buddy bench!!!!

Falkor started coming to school in February, and he has slowly been getting used to school. He's starting to come out some when classes are in the library, and has even been caught listening to some of the students reading to him. Falkor is a great addition to the library staff!

April 2, 2024
Pirate Families:
On Monday, April 8, a solar eclipse will cross over the United States. Although we are not in the path of totality, we will be able to view a 94% eclipse at approximately 2 p.m. This is a rare occasion and we want our students to be able to experience it. Our teachers will also be planning activities to align with the event and grade level learning standards.
To take advantage of watching the eclipse, students will be issued protective eye glasses prior to going outside. These eyeglasses have been purchased by our Parent Teacher Organization, and have been certified as safe by the American Astronomical Society and NASA.
If you DO NOT want your student to participate in the viewing, please contact us by calling or emailing the contact below by 9 a.m. on Monday, April 8.
Thank you,
